Excellent Products for Golf Improvement

Apr 13, 2012 by

Golfers are spending a lot of their spare money on gadgets and accessories, many of which promise to help you improve your golfing ability. I must have wasted thousands over the years on different products, but, most of them did little to benefit my skills as a golfer. There are some products that I believe are worth considering, these may well make a difference, lets take a look at them.

Installing a virtual golf simulator at home is top of my list, although they are fantastic for entertainment they also can help you to build a much better swing. The sensors that come with these products are able to follow your swing, this information is then processed and swing problems and errors are pointed out easily. Having one of these devices at home will give you the chance to work on your swing a lot more often, and, you will feel safe that you are building a swing that is free from errors.

Another awesome product every golfer should have is a GPS device. There are many available that come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. The smallest one I have seen is the Garmin GPS watch; this has over 16,000 golf courses built in and sits out of the way on your wrist. The value in a GPS is having exact distance data right in front of you. This makes it a lot easier to select the best golf club for each individual shot. You will also be able to access the full course layout on the screen which can help with tricky shots where you cannot see the around a corner or over a tree. Many GPS devices have electronic scorecards built in, you can track your progress and upload your scores to your computer after your round.

Making use of this type of technology can really help you as a golfer and I have to recommend that all golfers consider investing in some technology to ensure they are not at a disadvantage.

Using Computers to Build a Golf Swing

Apr 11, 2012 by

The use of golf simulation has grown in recent years to record sales and many golfers are impressed! In the past the only places you would find this technology is with large corporate brands that used them for fitting golf equipment. It is now possible to buy your own, and have it installed in your home.

The entry level models are all you will need for home use and they are simple to setup and use. The problem many people have is which room to use that will allow for an entire golf swing! You will also need a decent computer with a high end video card to make the most out of the graphics. Lastly, you will need some sort of display. Many golfers use their normal LCD television as a display, but, if you have the room, and the budget, then I would recommend getting a projector.

As the cheaper units take advantage of infra-red for the sensors, you will need an area with a low level light to enable the tracking of your golf swing. This also means you cannot use these products in your garden. This is a shame as that would be an ideal place to work on your swing.

The simulator can be used for working and improving your golf swing or purely for entertainment. Most units come with some golf courses preloaded and you can spend hours of fun playing St Andrews and other top courses.

Golfers should really consider buying a unit like this as it can make a substantial difference to their golf and keep their golf swings in check over the cold winter months.

How does the Xbox 360 stack up to other consoles?

Feb 21, 2012 by

It’s a hugely contested question of the age-old console war, so which one is the better – the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360? Whilst the consoles themselves are relatively similar, there are some definitive differences.

Firstly, the Nintendo Wii is clearly marketed at a younger audience of gamers and though the motion-control feature is well-implemented, it can feel a bit silly for a grown adult to be waving a plastic remote around!

The Xbox 360 treads the line of family friendly entertainment and intense gaming action – with the release of the Kinect and the features of the Xbox Live Avatars (similar to the Mii’s), there is a clear demographic towards the kids; however with games such as Halo and Gears of War, the teenage gaming market is easily catered for.

Finally, the Playstation 3 is clearly the most mature of the bunch – whilst there are kid games such as EyePet, it is clearly for adults, with strong entertainment features and incredible, artistic games.
